About the trainers




John Dixon and David Taylor have between them over 50 years’ experience in communications, PR, storytelling and video production.


John Dixon brings over three decades of experience in broadcast, TV commercials, corporate film and live event content, built on an early career in theatre, presenting and voiceover - including three years as the voice of ITV’s promotions.


Moving from freelance work with BBC Radio and ITV into senior creative roles, he directed programming for major broadcasters such as the BBC, ITV, Discovery, ESPN and NBC.


He has also led creative projects for global brands including Intel, Microsoft, Vodafone, Jaguar Land Rover and Etihad, earning a reputation for delivering impactful content worldwide.


As founder of the IDEC smartphone video training programme, John has provided practical training to organisations including the UK and Scottish governments, BMW, Barclays, Adidas, Porsche and the Police Digital Service.


With more than 30 years’ experience across journalism, media relations, marketing, digital strategy and business consultancy, David Taylor specialises in guiding organisations through today’s fast-changing business and communications landscape.


His broad, cross-sector background - from early days as a newspaper journalist to advising SMEs on digital transformation - gives him a unique, practical perspective that resonates with leaders and teams alike.


David has co-authored books on digital marketing, delivered national and international talks on digital change, and appeared regularly on BBC TV and radio as a commentator on the evolving digital world.


His business support methods have been used by enterprise organisations across the South and East of England to help hundreds of SMEs build stronger digital skills and more resilient businesses.


Venue and transport arrangements


The Civic Centre is a short walk from Uckfield Mainline Railway Station.
