Pitch for Purpose Competition launches to support purpose-driven SMEs

Portobello Business Centre (PBC), in partnership with Workspace and Transformacy, has launched the Pitch for Purpose Competition, a new initiative designed to support small and medium-sized businesses working towards B Corp certification.

The competition is open to purpose-driven businesses within the Workspace community that are addressing social challenges, embedding sustainability, or driving innovation within their sector. Selected businesses will have the opportunity to pitch for expert support towards achieving B Corp certification, with services valued at approximately £4,800 for businesses with annual turnover under £1 million.

B Corp certification recognises businesses that meet high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability. London is currently home to more than 1,000 B Corp-certified companies, the highest number of any city globally. Research shows that UK B Corp SMEs outperform the wider SME market, with stronger turnover growth, higher employee satisfaction and greater levels of innovation.

The Pitch for Purpose Competition will run alongside a programme of workshops, networking opportunities and expert guidance, providing practical support to help businesses scale sustainably and strengthen their impact.
