“Coming here makes me feel one step closer to were I want to be”

When Sharea became a mother, everything changed, including the way she understood communication. After giving birth to her daughter, she began to worry.

Her daughter was not speaking or progressing in the way she and her family had expected. Like many parents, she questioned herself. Was she doing enough? Was she missing something? She wanted to find a way to support her child before frustration or delay became a barrier.

That search led her to learn British Sign Language.

What began as a personal response to uncertainty quickly became something much bigger. As Sharea learned to sign, she saw the transformation: how signs, combined with music, rhythm and play, could help babies and toddlers express their needs long before speech fully develops. Communication became calmer. Connection became stronger. Confidence grew.

From that lived experience, Tiny Signers was born a programme designed to help children express themselves through BSL, song and movement, while strengthening parent–child bonds and promoting inclusion from the very start.

Turning a heartfelt idea into a sustainable business, however, required more than passion.

When Sharea began working with Greg, Senior Business Advisor, she admits she felt out of her depth. She had never built financial spreadsheets. She had never formally mapped out a growth plan. The vision was clear, but the structure was not.

“Working with Greg was invaluable,” she explains. “For the first time, I put everything into an Excel spreadsheet. I could see the numbers, the direction and the decisions in front of me. It helped me connect the dots.”

More importantly, she felt supported and challenged.

“I felt guided. I now trust my idea and believe in myself that I can do this. Greg challenged me at exactly the right level. If I hadn’t come here, I think I would have given up.”

Instead of giving up, Sharea now leads a growing early years programme that blends inclusion, creativity and evidence-informed communication practice. Tiny Signers is not just a business it is a response to a very real need, shaped by lived experience and strengthened by the right support at the right time. What began as a mother’s concern has become a mission: to help every child deaf, hearing, verbal, non-verbal or neurodivergent express themselves confidently and feel understood.
