Supporting Women in Business: Advice for Female Entrepreneurs this International Women’s Day

International Women’s Day is a moment to celebrate the achievements of women around the world and recognise the important role they play in business, leadership and innovation.

At Portobello Business Centre, we work with many inspiring entrepreneurs who are building businesses, creating jobs and contributing to their communities. To mark International Women’s Day, we came across an interesting article from Capital Space that shares practical advice for women starting and growing their own businesses. One statistic in particular stood out: 

only around 1 in 5 UK businesses are led by women. 

This highlights both the progress that has been made and the opportunity to continue supporting more women into entrepreneurship. The article explores several useful insights from female founders, including the importance of resilience, building strong networks and staying true to your values when running a business.
