We first met Kyle at our annual Ready Set Grow event, a full day of interactive workshops and networking designed to help small business owners sharpen their ideas and build confidence. At the end of the day, we invited a selection of participants to pitch for a share of £5,000.

Kyle spoke openly about the gaps holding him back advanced training that would allow him to expand his service offering, and professional branding to help him stand out on the road. His honesty, focus and ambition were undeniable.

As the founder of KEWthevalet, a mobile car valeting service, Kyle had already built a business centred around convenience, travelling directly to customers’ homes. His services focused on car cleaning, but he wanted to take things further. He wanted to learn specialist skills so he could offer advanced treatments that protect vehicles long-term and set his work apart from quick, chemical-heavy car washes. He also needed branding for his van to help establish a professional presence.

Through the Ready Set Grow grant, Kyle received the two things he said would make the biggest difference: Advanced deep scratch correction training and vinyl branding for his van.

These steps will allow him to take on higher-value work while turning his van into a 24/7 advertisement for the business. They’re the kind of investments many founders struggle to fund on their own, especially while juggling every part of running a business.
