You never know who you're going to meet when you put your business out into the world.
Today, one of Sylvia's first customers was a traveller from Australia who was spending her final day in Europe before heading home.
After stopping for a hot chocolate, she told Sylvia how delighted she was to have discovered the stall and how much she enjoyed the drink. It was a simple interaction, but one that left both customer and business owner smiling.
Moments like these are easy to overlook, but they highlight something important.
When Sylvia first started trading at markets, it was about building confidence, testing her products and meeting customers face-to-face. Now, that confidence has grown so much that she is actively looking at other local markets where she can sell her products and continue growing her business.
Today was a reminder of why.
A customer who lives on the other side of the world discovered Sylvia's business simply because she chose to step away from the screen and put herself in front of people.
Online selling can be a fantastic tool, but it is also crowded and competitive.
Markets offer something different. They create opportunities for conversations, feedback, connections and experiences that simply cannot be replicated online.
For Sylvia, today's sale was more than just a cup of hot chocolate.
It was proof that every market day is an opportunity to reach new people, build confidence and share your business with customers you may never have expected to meet.
