What happens when young people fully understand what entrepreneurship means and see it as a real and achievable career path? The answer is simple. Everything shifts. Curiosity grows, confidence rises and students begin to imagine futures they may never have considered before.
This week, Dr Sheela Sharma continued her work in schools across London, delivering impactful entrepreneurship sessions to students at two inspiring institutions. Each group was at a different stage in their education yet equally open to discovering the world of business and innovation.
Bringing Entrepreneurship to Life at Clarion School (NW2)
At Clarion School, 113 Year 9 pupils explored what it really means to run a business from creativity and resilience to problem solving and leadership. The energy in the room was unmistakable. Students asked thoughtful questions, shared imaginative ideas and began to understand that entrepreneurship is not reserved for a select few.
Muyideen Adeogun, Business Studies Teacher, shared the impact of Sheela’s visit:
“Thank you for visiting our school today and delivering such an inspiring entrepreneurship talk to our Year 9 students. Your presentation was extremely engaging and gave students a much better understanding of what it really means to run a business. Several students said that they now feel more motivated to think about their future business ideas because of what you shared with us.”
Connecting Business Education to Real Futures at Southbank International School (NW1)
At Southbank International School, 11 Year 12 students studying IB Business Management had the chance to reflect on how entrepreneurship aligns with their future goals. These conversations highlighted the importance of showing older students how creativity, strategy and initiative can shape a meaningful and independent career.
Emily Giles, Business Management and Economics Teacher, described the session’s impact:
“We loved it. We all felt inspired and it helped students solidify why we are taking this [IB Business Management] course.”
Why These Sessions Matter
PBC aims to show young people that entrepreneurship is not a distant concept but something they can actively pursue. When students realise that starting a business is within reach they begin to think more boldly about their strengths, ideas and future opportunities. These school sessions remind us that entrepreneurship education has the power to shift mindsets and open doors. When young people are shown what is possible, they are more likely to find the confidence to build it.
